Our Video Production Process

Pre-Production

Creative planning
We work with you to brainstorm concepts, themes, and visual styles that will resonate with your audience. This is where we define the overall direction and tone of the video, making sure it aligns with your brand's message and objectives.

Scripting
We work on a script to determine the flow of the video. The script acts as a guideline, as we always leave some room for improvisation.

Storyboarding
In this stage, we create a shot-by-shot breakdown of the video, mapping out every scene. This provides a clear visual representation of the video’s flow and helps us anticipate how each shot will contribute to the overall story. Storyboarding ensures that both our team and yours are on the same page before the cameras start rolling.

We will either take our own photos or create sketches to map out the scenes. Sometimes, we use AI-generated images to speed up the process, as long as it gets the point across. Stock photos are only used when there is a very tight deadline. Mock shoots can be used to create the storyboard too, capturing the necessary angles without overcomplicating the details. For instance, if the goal is to show a ball in slow motion, we'll take a photo of the ball and include a note explaining how the slow-motion effect will be applied in the final video. These images are simple but descriptive enough to communicate the vision effectively.

Setup planning
We outline the equipment, crew, and props required for the shoot. This includes determining the necessary lighting setups, camera rigs, sound equipment, and other technical details to prepare for the day of production.

Moodboard
A mood board is a visual reference guide that captures the overall tone, colour palette, and style of the video. It includes imagery, textures, color schemes, and even music references that set the emotional and aesthetic tone for the project. Creating a mood board helps align the creative team with your vision, ensuring that everything from the visuals to the soundtrack evokes the desired mood.

We will draw inspiration from existing visuals that reflect the desired tone and vibe. Using frames from movies, online videos, or other creative sources and compile them into PowerPoint slides for easy presentation. These moodboards are designed to give you a strong visual sense of the final product. If needed, extra slides are made to clarify the concept and ensure you fully understand the direction we’re taking. Whether shared digitally or printed out, the moodboard serves as a visual guide to keep the creative vision on track.

Resource/Material sourcing
After understanding the type of video you would like to shoot, we will source for all the necessary materials. These can include: background, any fabrics or textured background you may require, special effects such as glitter or smoke, and any other items that is required.

Timeline planning
We establish a timeline that outlines each phase of the production process—from pre-production to final delivery. This timeline includes key milestones, such as approval deadlines, shoot dates, and post-production phases, ensuring that every task is completed on time.

Recce of filming locations
We do location recce before the shoot to inspect filming locations. We assess lighting conditions, space requirements, and any logistical considerations that could impact production. This allows us to identify potential challenges and plan accordingly, ensuring that filming runs smoothly.

Contingency planning
Our contingency planning process involves having backup plans for every major element of the production. This includes alternative shoot locations, backup equipment, or revised schedules, ensuring that the project remains on track.

Production

Set up for shoot
Before filming begins, we set up all the necessary equipment and ensure that every detail is prepared. This includes:

- Lighting: Setting up lights or working with the direction of the sunlight, whether it’s a natural outdoor setup or a highly controlled studio environment.
- Cameras: Depending on the scope of the project, we may employ multiple cameras for different angles, ensuring we get sufficient coverage.
- Talent: If your video involves actors, models, or corporate representatives, we ensure that they are well-prepared and rehearsed for the shoot. Our team works with the talent to ensure they are comfortable and confident before the cameras start rolling.
- Sound Equipment: We also set up all the necessary microphones and recorders.

Filming
With everything in place, we move into the filming phase. During filming, we will monitor sound and visuals closely, making adjustments as needed to ensure the highest quality results. If any additional shots or retakes are needed, we address them on the spot and rectify it immediately.

Post-Production

Editing
The first step in post-production is editing the raw footage. We will review all the footage and select the best shots, arranging them in a sequence that tells a cohesive story, as outlined during the pre-production phase. Throughout the editing process, we keep you informed and provide drafts for review, allowing for amendments based on your feedback.

Graphics
Depending on the project, we may incorporate custom graphics to enhance the video. This can include:

- Logos and branding elements to reinforce your company’s identity.
- Text overlays for titles, names, or important information.
- Animations or visual effects that add a layer of professionalism and creativity to the video.

Colour grading
To create a visually cohesive and aesthetically pleasing video, we will color grade the footage. This process will be split into 2 parts. First it will be the colour correction, where we ensure that all the footages are coloured correctly, having the proper white balance, exposure, and contrast. The second step will heavily depend on the type of video, as we would be doing creative colour grading. This is where we will create your unique look, as outlined in the moodboards in pre-production.

Fine tune final edit
After the initial edits, graphics, and colour grading are complete, we fine-tune the video. This involves reviewing the entire video to address any minor adjustments, such as refining transitions, correcting any audio inconsistencies, or smoothing out the pacing.

Voiceover Artist
If your video requires a voiceover, we collaborate with professional voiceover artists who match the tone and style of your brand. We also take care of all the audio recording, syncing, and editing for a smooth integration of the voiceover with the visuals.

Once we've completed all these steps, you've got your video!

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends. Usually we will check with you and determine what you already have available, so we don't charge you unnecessarily.

If you rather have us settle everything for you, we are happy to do so too and source out everything.

We always recommend to enquire at least 1-2 months in advance before your deadline so we have ample time to plan and shoot.

If you require us to plan and shoot less than a month (depending on the complexity of the shoot), we will have to quote a higher price because of the expedited time. Sometimes we might not be able to commit because of different factors like approval of permit request, talent acquisition and availability etc.

However, we always try our best no matter how tight the deadline is, so just enquire and we'll see what we can do for you.

We will provide once we're gathered all the necessary information.

Book a free enquiry for us to understand what exactly your needs are.

If it’s B2B, most of the time it will do well because the videos are quite objective.

However, if it’s B2C, (depending on your target audience) you need to cater to short form videos, we will be able to help curate the script and storyline in a way where the tempo and content appeals to the younger audience.

It depends. If you have a script in mind, we'll work with what you have. Because some companies we've worked with before had strict BI’s to follow.

Depending on your objective, if you require us to do up the script because you don’t have a template or you are not confident with the scripting, we will be more than happy to help. You have to communicate and vet the scripts with us to ensure that there isn’t any information missing.

Yes of course!

Other than the product that is provided for the shoot, if we do not have the materials required on our end, we will be charging accordingly.
